Pollinator Garden Installation
Pickering, ON
This garden overhaul was so satisfying! Not only were we able to give two existing garden beds a refresh, but we were able to create a whole new bed using old up-cycled cedar rails AND we were able to create an intentional decorative space under the evergreens where plants were having a hard time growing. This first garden bed contains: Sweet Oxeye, Pearly Everlasting, Meadow Sundrops, Red Bergamot, Hairy Beardtongue, Prairie Smoke, and Side Oats.

This next garden needed a little bit of love, so we removed all of the existing plants, amended the soil, and planted: Pearly Everlasting, Meadow Sundrops, and Hairy Beardtongue.

This area was having a hard time growing anything, including grass, because of the dense shade of the conifers, as well as some curious dogs! We fences off the area with more of our up-cycled cedar rail to create an intentional decorative space. we also added soil and spread seed, in the hopes that the break from the dogs will help the groundcovers to grow next season.

Lastly, we had this existing bed that needed a good weeding and some shade-loving native plants! We cleaned up the weeds, amended the soil, and planted a variety of ferns, including: Ostrich Fern, Maidenhair Fern, and Marginal Wood Fern.
