Pollinator Garden Installation

Newmarket, ON

This project was a total start-from-scratch garden, which we LOVE! In Spring 2021, we took up a big section of lawn in order to create pollinator habitat. We used a sod cutter to create our garden template and remove the grass. We then weeded and amended the soil to create an optimal base for the planting. For this garden, we planted: Fireweed, Mountain Mint, Oswego Tea, Sweet Oxeye, Wild Bergamot, Swamp Milkweed, Pearly Everlasting, Wild Columbine, Prairie Smoke, and 1 Choke Cherry. We also had the pleasure of coming back in Fall 2021 to do a weeding/maintenance pass, and got to see the incredible progress of the garden! The clients said that the birds from their nearby feeder were all over the seeds. That's definitely a wildlife garden success!
