Garden Restoration Project
Haliburton, ON
This was an exciting project that had us doing several garden restorations and a shoreline planting. Being in cottage country meant that we were able to use some plants that we don't normally use in places like Toronto, such as Wintergreen and Bunchberry. In this first garden we dug out the gravel that had been there from previous erosion and added LOTS of soil. From there we planted: Pearly Everlasting, White Snakeroot, Wood Fern, Wintergreen, Bunchberry, and White Wood Aster. We also built some large steps coming down the slope.

For this same project we built steps in another location, installed a pollinator garden at the side of the cottage, restored some existing gardens in the terraces, and planted some water-loving tree and shrub species along the shoreline.
